Blue Star Power Generation, a subsidiary of Blue Star Gas, and EC Power Inc. signed a distributor agreement.

The partnership will enable Blue Star to incorporate EC Power’s XRGI25 – a 24-kilowatt combined heat and power system (CHP) into its product offerings for customers. The XRGI25 system provides both heat and on-site power from a single unit.

Blue Star, a family-owned business managed by the third generation of the Stewart family, has been operating since 1938. It serves over 75,000 square miles across 14 unique markets with locations in Arizona, California, Oregon, Utah and Washington. With about 200 employees, Blue Star provides propane and power generation services to residential, commercial and industrial customers.

EC Power is also a family-owned business, founded in Denmark in 1996, and has established itself as a manufacturer of CHP systems. EC Power has installed more than 15,000 units across 27 countries and expanded its operations to the United States. In 2023, the company established an office, demo site, training facilities and warehouse in Smithfield, Rhode Island.

“We are excited to add the CHP XRGI25 system to our product lineup,” says Jeff Stewart, president of Blue Star Power Generation. “This partnership with EC Power allows us to offer our customers a cutting-edge energy solution that aligns with our commitment to sustainability and efficiency. We look forward to a successful partnership with EC Power and are excited about the future possibilities this agreement brings.”

The partnership marks a significant milestone for EC Power, as the company says it now has the opportunity to broaden its footprint in the United States.

“We are thrilled to partner with Blue Star Power Generation,” says Anders Thorsen, CEO of EC Power. “Their dedication to quality, service and innovation makes them an ideal partner for us. We are confident that our combined efforts will lead to innovative energy solutions that meet the growing demands of the market. We look forward to a successful partnership with Blue Star and are excited about the future possibilities this agreement brings, and the benefits of the XRGI25 system can bring, to their customers.”
