AI explored in Cargas’ 6th annual technology trends report
Cargas has published its sixth annual Top Technology Trends in Fuel Delivery Benchmarking Report.
According to Cargas, the 2025 report explores the ever-evolving role of technology for fuel delivery companies, including artificial intelligence (AI), customer service software, tank monitors and more.
“It’s easy to sum up this year’s result in one word: efficiency,” says Adam Harrison, sales consultant at Cargas Energy, in a video summary about the report.
Energy companies have realized the potential for efficiency gains by embracing a more extensive array of software tools, Cargas says.
In the report, Cargas explores industry trends under the categories of AI, dispatch and delivery, business intelligence, integrated systems and investing in the future. AI is among the new technology that almost two-thirds of respondents are evaluating for the future.
“Although a majority of respondents aren’t using a dedicated AI, they show a clear interest in the power of artificial intelligence for fuel delivery operations,” Cargas shares in the report.
The report gathers insights from more than 100 fuel dealers to explore how their technology has evolved year over year. The online survey was conducted in September through October 2024 with fuel dealers across North America solicited via email, digital advertising and social media.
More than three-quarters of respondents were classified as small- or medium-sized businesses, with fleets ranging from one truck to 20, Cargas says. Most operate in the northeastern and southern United States.
Cargas, based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, is an employee-owned software company for fuel delivery and HVAC service companies.
