EDP names Kevin Pollack as CEO
EDP, an owner and operator of locally managed propane distributors across 24 states, appointed Kevin Pollack as the company’s new CEO. Pollack will join EDP on April 14, and will be based at the company’s headquarters in Chicago.

Pollack most recently served as COO of HALO Branded Solutions, a distributor of branded products and technology solutions. Prior to HALO, he spent 17 years at Stericycle. According to the company, he played a key role in getting Stericycle’s growth to above $3 billion in revenue, holding senior leadership positions across operations, sales, and mergers and acquisitions.
“Kevin brings a strong track record of building and scaling distribution and logistics businesses, and I’m thrilled to welcome him to EDP,” says Tom Knauff, founder and executive chairman of EDP, as well as a 2025 LP Gas Hall of Fame inductee. “As part of our carefully planned succession process, Kevin emerged as the clear choice to lead EDP in its next phase of growth. He embodies our culture and values, and I’m confident he is uniquely suited to guide EDP’s strategy and execution alongside the exceptional regional and local leadership teams we have in place across the company.”
Tom Knauff, who founded EDP in 2012 and has overseen its growth and expansion, will continue as executive chairman and a member of the board of directors. Current CEO Boyd H. McGathey, who joined EDP in 2019, has decided to retire. He will remain with the company to support the transition until his planned succession later this year.
“I’ve admired EDP’s market-leading reputation and entrepreneurial culture, and I’m honored to step into the role of CEO,” says Pollack. “Tom, Boyd and the entire EDP team have built a remarkable business with a strong foundation and a growing national footprint. I’m excited to work alongside Tom, our senior leadership team and the local service centers to continue serving our customers across the country.”
